"Some bits of mathematics are completely free of equations: just about patterns. I want to tell you about such a bit of maths, with no equations at all, called Ramsey Theory."
This talk by Professor Imre Leader (Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, University of Cambridge) was originally given to an audience of Year 12 A-level Maths students (aged 16-17). The talk formed part of a mathematics enrichment day we organised with a special focus on encouraging the development of mathematical thinking. It was recorded on 27 June 2014.
You can also watch another talk from the event, by Professor David Tong, on 'Einstein, Relativity and Gravity Waves'.
