  • Maths for Parents

    Date:
    Thursday, 12 October 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Do you read stories to your children? Do you play tennis, or go swimming with your children? Do you cook, sing, or garden with your children?

Have you ever considered doing some maths with your children?

Our NRICH project is running a series of workshops this autumn, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge's Institute for Continuing Education, for parents who would like to know more about enjoying mathematics with their children.

Come and experience the pleasure of working mathematically. Become hooked by puzzling problems, get excited by making mathematical discoveries, enjoy the challenge of finding a strategy for winning a game… and be inspired to return home and enjoy some of the activities with your children (as your homework!).

No prior knowledge of maths is required. Please note that these sessions are designed for adults only. Work on your maths with Charlie Gilderdale and Fran Watson from NRICH, and then between sessions try out the ideas, games and activities you've explored with your children.

    The evening workshop dates are:
    Thursday, 12 October, 2017 - 7pm-9pm
    Thursday, 2 November, 2017 - 7pm-9pm
    Thursday, 16 November, 2017 - 7pm-9pm
    Thursday, 23 November, 2017 - 7pm-9pm
    Thursday, 30 November, 2017 - 7pm-9pm
    Thursday, 14 December, 2017 - 7pm-9pm

    Cost and booking

You can choose to attend all six evenings or just one or two. The cost is £20 per workshop, or £100 for all six.
