NRICH Director Ems Lord elected President of the Mathematical Association

Ems Lord, NRICH Director, has been elected President of the Mathematical Association for 2019/2020. The Mathematical Association is the oldest established teachers' subject association in the UK. Ems Lord joined the MMP as NRICH Director in 2015, following her previous role leading one of the country's largest Mathematics Specialist Teacher Programmes. Ems has taught mathematics across all key stages, from Early Years to A Level Further Mathematics. Her previous roles include supporting schools as a Leading Mathematics Teacher and local authority consultant. Ems has taught mathematics education on both BEd and PGCE teacher programmes, and her research addresses how we can improve our support for pupils' learning calculation skills. NRICH is the largest programme within the MMP, providing rich mathematics education resources for ages 3 to 18, and supporting teachers through professional development. In 2016/2017 NRICH's online resources attracted over 5.5 million users.
