Title: Building platforms for infectious disease modeling

Abstract: Many talks on infectious disease modeling focus on specific techniques or applications. In contrast, I will discuss how we can engineer platforms that empower modelers - by providing data and compute platforms - and how modelers can help through adopting approaches to their models that make integration into a platform easier. I will cover specific examples of such platforms including HIV in North Carolina, COVID-19 in the UK, and Lassa Fever in Nigeria, as well as some ideas about platform-friendly modeling approaches.
