STEP results from year 12

Hi,

I have taken both STEP I and II in year 12 (just finished year 12), and I am planning to apply to Cambridge (not for maths, but for physical natsci - I changed my mind about applying for maths). I had self-studied the STEP specifications, and I did A level maths alongside STEP. My question is, will Cambridge see my results and exact marks, and will they check, even though it is for natsci? And also, do I have to declare these results on my UCAS (and again, will they check)? As I was lead to understand that they are examinations, rather than qualifications, thus not needing to be declared, should they be disadvantageous...

As far as I know, you don't have to declare your STEP results on UCAS, and I doubt they would check. Have you tried contacting an Admissions officer to see what they say?

For other readers - sitting STEP a year early is not something that I would encourage.

Hi, thanks for your reply, if I declare it on the Cambridge SAQ/UCAS form, would they then subsequently check my marks and grade to confirm it?

If you declare it they might check your marks. Best to wait and see what your result is and then decide what to do!
