The University of Cambridge hereby asserts any intellectual property rights that it may have including copyright, database rights and any rights in compilations in and to the Materials on the Website. The University has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that the use of other's text and images is done with the full consent of copyright owners and/or in accordance with relevant legislative provisions. Permitted and Prohibited Use of Materials on the Website
Permission is hereby granted, without agreement and without licence or royalty fees:

to use and to download a single copy of the Materials for private study and research, provided that such use and copying is for personal non-commercial purposes only and not for any commercial advantage and that any copyright notice within the Materials and these Terms of Use appear in any copy of the Materials;

for teachers to use and download the Materials and to make multiple copies thereof for their students within their school or educational establishment and that any copyright notice within the Materials and these Terms of Use appear in any copy of the Materials. Copies of the Materials may not be used for any commercial purposes by the teacher, school or educational establishment.
To use and copy the Materials otherwise requires specific written permission from the University and/or the original copyright holder(s) as identified and the User agrees to contact the University and/or the copyright holder(s) to obtain permission to do so.
Except as permitted above, the User undertakes not to copy, reproduce, publish, store in any medium (including extraction into any other website, database, compilation, or computer programme), generate collections, distribute, transmit, retransmit, modify, manipulate, alter, rent, lease, or lend or broadcast or show any part of the Website without the prior written permission of the University.
Any further use may infringe copyright and moral rights and may attract civil remedies and criminal penalties. The University regularly monitors access to the Website, other websites and publications in all mediums and utilises digital watermarking to assist in the tracing of illegal use and will take action for infringement of copyright and breach of these Terms of Use.
The User warrants to the University that the User will not infringe the University's intellectual property rights nor will the User breach the intellectual property rights of any third party.
User Contributions to the Website
Where the User is invited to submit any contribution to the Website, upon doing so the User grants to the University a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide, sublicenseable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, distribute, broadcast, transmit, perform, play, and exercise all copyright with respect to such a contribution for the full term of any rights that may exist in such a contribution. If the User does not wish to grant such rights to the University, the User is urged to not submit his or her contribution to the Website. By submitting his or her contribution, the User warrants:

that his or her contribution is his/her own original work and that he/she has the right to make it available for use by the University as specified above;

that his or her contribution is not defamatory or libellous;

that his or her contribution does not break or infringe any law.
In submitting a contribution, the User agrees to waive any moral rights in his/her contribution and agrees to indemnify the University against any breach of the above warranties.
If the User is aged 16 or under, he or she must have their parent's or guardian's permission before making any contribution to the Website. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide the University with any contribution.
Trademarks
The trademarks of University of Cambridge and any third party displayed on the Website are the registered and unregistered trademarks of the same. Nothing contained in the Website shall be taken or construed as granting any licence or right to use the trademarks displayed on the Website without the prior written permission of the owner. The User's use of the trademarks on the Website is strictly prohibited.
Disclaimer and No Warranty
In no event shall the University be liable to any party for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of the Materials whether or not amended by third parties.
The University provides the Materials "as is" without warranty of any kind either express or implied including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Severability
If any of these Terms of Use should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any country in which these Terms of Use are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within that jurisdiction which that Term of Use is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these Terms of Use and the remaining Terms of Use shall survive and remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.
Applicability and Linked Sites
The University reserves the right to change the terms, conditions and notices under which the Website is held. The User is responsible for reviewing these terms and conditions and notices. The User's viewing and/or use of these materials constitutes the User's agreement to all such terms, conditions and notices.
The Website may contain links to third party websites ("Linked Sites"). The Linked Sites are not owned or controlled by the University and it is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any changes or updates to a Linked Site. The University is not responsible for webcasting or any other transmission received from any Linked Site, nor is the University responsible if the Linked Site is not working properly in providing these links to the User only as a convenience, and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement of any site or any association with its operators. The User is responsible for viewing and abiding by the privacy, copyright and terms and conditions posted at the Linked Sites.
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and in any dispute the User agrees to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
If these Terms of Use are not accepted in full, the User does not have permission to access the contents of the Website and therefore should cease using the Website immediately.
