STEP Support Programme

Useful websites

Here are a few websites that might be useful in your STEP preparation (not including this one!)

The Admissions Testing Service has lots of past papers, the STEP specification, Examiner's reports etc. It also has the details of when the STEP exams will be and how to register for them.

The STEP database has 30 years of STEP questions available, and you can search by topic as well as year/paper.

MEI has STEP solutions available here. You will need the login details shown on this page to login as a guest. There are solutions to papers from 1996 onwards. Note that there are often many ways to do a STEP question, the solutions shown on this website are only one way!

Good luck!

I read this and thought "It can't be 30 years, it only goes back to 1987... oh."
My advice is always that recent questions provide the best preparation, though it's nice to be able to look back and see how STEP has changed over the years!

I did mean to add that t is best to concentrate on 2003 onwards as this is when the current specification came into being.

If you look at older papers you will see questions on groups and matrices, which are no longer in the spec!
