We have made a couple of changes to the Warm Downs in Foundation Assignments 1, 2 and 12.

The Warm Down to Assignment 1 (The Bell Ringers) is now on Assignment 12.
The Warm Down to Assignment 2 (Holditch Theorem is now on Assignment 1.
The Warm Down to Assignment 12 (The Chestnut Tree) is now on Assignment 2.

In light of feedback, we have been expanding the "hints and partial solutions" documents for the foundation modules, so the solutions are now more on the lines of "full solutions".

We would suggest that if you are stuck on a module, and want a hint / push in the right direction then please post a comment on the forum. The "hints and partial solutions" should only be looked at after you have had a few goes at the question.

I believe there is a mistake in the Q8 of the Step I Mechanics module :
it seems to me that the distance between P and Q is rather e^t * square_root(1 + e^-2T - 2 e^-T cosT )

I believe the double product has been counted as a simple product.

Am I wrong ?

At the bottom of page 3. I believe that $ \lamda $ should used for both the mean and variance - and the standard deviation is its square root. The notes show $ \lamda^2 $ being the variance.

(Am I doing something wrong? Wherre's my LaTeX lamda?)
